All products featured on Allure are independently selected by our editors. However, we may receive compensation from retailers and/or from purchases of products through these links.
For those who don’t live on TikTok—or at least whose For You Pages aren’t filled with beauty content—let us paint a picture for you on just how big the body-care category has become. You can find videos on how to bathe and how to shave. You can watch everyday folks break down their seven-step body-care routines and dental hygienists share their secrets to a sparkling smile. Saccharine-smelling scrubs from the drugstore go viral, and fancy body oils that debuted during the Obama administration get rediscovered. There’s even a vocabulary that’s emerged, from the all-encompassing “everything shower” to the vaguely patronizing "hygiene tips.” And this body-care bonanza has spilled off the app and onto beauty shelves, with new products, brands, and innovations emerging near daily.
It’s against this backdrop that we selected Body Care winners for our 2025 Allure Best of Beauty Awards. This year, the number of submissions exploded. Categories had to be added, and every shower our editors took over the past 10 months was of the “everything” variety, just to get through the sheer amount of products that arrived at their desks. The result is that our testers were able to determine the products that really, truly elevate your body-care routine, from the most effective exfoliators and elegant sunscreens, to the sprays that help banish bacne, the antiperspirants that stop sweat in its tracks, and the salts that transform your weekly bath into a spa-like experience. Sure, a few TikTok-famous products made the list (they go viral for a reason!), but there are loads more exceptional formulas to discover on this list, from brands across the beauty landscape.

Best Acne Bar
PanOxyl Acne Treatment Bar
Amazon
Why It Won: PanOxyl Acne Treatment Bar takes a back-to-basics approach when tackling body breakouts, and our testers were totally here for it. Benzoyl peroxide isn’t new or trendy, but it’s one of the most trusted ways to treat acne because it both prevents the bacteria that causes it from growing and soothes the resulting inflammation. This humble bar contains 10% of the stuff—the highest concentration of benzoyl peroxide you can get without going to the doctor—which means it acts fast to clear body acne wherever it creeps up.
Tester feedback from Best of Beauty editorial assistant ElleAnna Revell

“I have been using PanOxyl products for years, but this Acne Treatment Bar might be my absolute favorite. I’ve had on-and-off struggles with back breakouts since I was about 14, but whenever I have a flare-up, I use this product for about a week, and my acne disappears!” —ElleAnna Revell, Best of Beauty editorial assistant

Best Liquid Body Wash: Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash
Best Liquid Body Wash
Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash
Amazon
Why It Won: Whether it’s body or hair care, Dove knows how to hydrate—and it shows with the Deep Moisture Body Wash. The classic formula got an update recently that made it unbelievably more moisturizing and, undeniably, a Best of Beauty winner. Instead of stripping your skin, the new technology does the opposite, cramming nourishers and moisturizing ingredients into microscopic nano-size droplets that nudge themselves into the nooks and crannies of your skin. Your skin can stay moisturized for hours and hours…. and hours and hours…. after you step out of the shower.
Tester feedback from social media manager Bianca Richards
LargeChevron
“In this economy, I’ve learned to be strategic with my beauty buys. While I love a good splurge on a body wash, you really can’t go wrong with a classic that checks all the boxes. The Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash is perfect for everyday use. It lathers beautifully (I love a sudsy wash), smells superfresh, and leaves my skin feeling thoroughly cleansed, especially when used with a net sponge.” —Bianca Richards, social media manager

Amazon
Content director Kara McGrath applies the Dove Advanced Care Cool Essentials Antiperspirant Dry Spray.
Why It Won: The Dove Advanced Care Cool Essentials Antiperspirant Dry Spray gives us everything we love about a spray-on format—convenience, sweat protection, burst of freshness—and nothing we don’t, namely, a wet, white residue that stains our clothes. This long-lasting antiperspirant goes on completely clear and dries down so quickly that the only thing left behind is a refreshing scent and a tough barrier against wetness.
Tester feedback from content director Kara McGrath
LargeChevron
“I have used some form of Dove antiperspirant since I began using deodorant as a preteen. That's not to say I haven't tried others, they just…. tend to disappoint. I've been pretty loyal to the stick version of the Advanced Care, but I recently switched to the spray. I find the application easier, and there's zero residue left over to mess up my black T-shirts. Oh, and yes: It stops sweat and odor on even the hottest, most humid summer day.” —Kara McGrath, content director
Best Deodorant
Best Deodorant Stick: Evolvetogether Deodorant
Best Deodorant Stick
Evolvetogether Deodorant
Amazon
Why It Won: Good design strikes the right balance between form and function. The iPhone, Post-it Notes, the Toyota Prius—and you can add the Evolvetogether Deodorant to that list. Not only does it look good (we never thought we’d utter “chic” and “deodorant” in the same sentence), but when it comes to function, this aluminum-free formula works. Tapioca starch soaks up sweat, enzymes from fermented sugarcane neutralize odors, and the four heat-activated scents (Monaco, Tulum, Havana, and Taormina) are as lovely and nuanced as the finest of fragrances.
Tester feedback from features director Dianna Singh
LargeChevron
“The packaging is chic, the formula glides on with zero drag, and the scents are subtle and sophisticated. My current favorite is Taormina, a blend of jasmine, orange, and geranium that smells like a garden." —Dianna Singh, features director

Best Physical Body Scrub: Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub
Best Physical Body Scrub
Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub

Why It Won: Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrubs may be a TikTok favorite, but real ones know the brand has been selling its sweet-smelling body polishers for more than two decades. With a selection of around 30 fruity and tropical-inspired scents, each formulation is slightly different, although they all use a combination of sugar (for buffing), shea butter (for hydrating), and varying combinations of fruit extracts and oils (for aroma), which all together leave skin unbelievably silky. Choosing one can feel overwhelming, but we can’t quit the classic Moroccan Rose, the dreamy Ocean Glow, and the delectable Vanilla.
Tester feedback from social media manager Bianca Richards
LargeChevron
“There’s truly nothing like the Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub. I’ve tested so many body scrubs, hoping one would stand out, but I always find myself coming back to this tried-and-true favorite. The sugar granules are just right for gently exfoliating dead skin, leaving it feeling smooth and refreshed. What I love most, though, is how the scent lingers on my skin long after the shower. That lasting fragrance adds an extra layer of comfort and freshness that I can’t get enough of. Exotic Bloom has always been my go-to, but I love all of their scents…. Ocean Glow, Tropic Glow, Island Breeze—you get it!” —Bianca Richards, social media manager

If you already use the Flamingo Body Wax Kit, we also salute you—you’ve discovered strips that take an uncomfortable process and make it much more mess-free. The pre-waxed strips latch onto hairs with the strength of a baby’s fist, yanking them out right at the roots with about as much discomfort as ripping off a (very sticky) Band-Aid. Your limbs are left smooth, hairless, and with little-to-no wax left behind.
Tester feedback from senior news editor Nicola Dall’Asen

“Sometimes I really hate waxing myself, but I hate thigh stubble and ingrowns even more, so the Flamingo Body Wax Kit is a nonnegotiable in my house. These strips make the old-school process (waiting a million years for those beads to melt, inevitably burning yourself with wax, getting colorful gloop on everything in sight) as simple as possible. You simply peel, stick, and let 'er rip.” —Nicola Dall’Asen, senior news editor
Best Depilatory Cream: Nair Cocoa Butter Body Cream Hair Remover
Best Depilatory Cream
Nair Cocoa Butter Body Cream Hair Remover
Walmart
Why It Won: If a depilatory cream is your preferred way to defuzz, Nair Cocoa Butter Body Cream Hair Remover gets the job done quickly with a delicate scent and a dollop of cocoa butter that helps leaves limbs not just hairless, but soft and soothed. Just spread a thick layer—like, birthday cake icing thick—over dry skin and after checking on small sections every three minutes, wipe away the cream when it's ready (which should be less than 10 minutes depending on how much and how thick your hair is).

“I'm a huge fan of Nair and have been using it since high school. In just five minutes, it gets rid of all the hair on my legs and arms without irritating my skin or causing ingrowns (IYKYK). The cocoa butter scent masks the Nair-y fragrance, which is great, because while I love how Nair works, I hate the chemical smell. This version smells, dare I say it…. good? Like, not perfume-level good but good enough that I'm not coughing while I wait for the cream to remove my hair. And I love how smooth my skin feels after application—like baby-butt smooth. Shaving never gives me these results. Honestly, I love this cream so much I’ve considered giving up shaving altogether.” —Melanie Curry, associate manager of audience development

Best Hand Cream: Maison Louis Marie No.04 Bois de Balincourt Hand Cream
Best Hand Cream
Maison Louis Marie No.04 Bois de Balincourt Hand Cream
Amazon
Senior art director Ingrid Fowler applies the No.04 Bois de Balincourt Hand Cream.
Why It Won: When a perfume brand brings out a hand cream, we often find ourselves disappointed—with the greasy, very un-hydrated hands to prove it. Maison Louis Marie changes the narrative, however, with its No.04 Bois de Balincourt Hand Cream. An ancillary of the brand’s best-selling, ambery-woody eau, each aluminum tube contains a quick-absorbing lotion that lavishes skin with moisture, keeping hands feeling comfortable and cuticles softened with its moisturizing blend of avocado oil, shea butter, plus green tea and chamomile extracts.

“No.04 Bois de Balincourt is one of my all-time favorite fragrances—it's floral, fresh, warm, and earthy—and I'm so happy it comes in hand-cream form. I love that it’s ultra-hydrating for dry hands but doesn't leave them feeling sticky. The 1.7 fl. oz.-tube is perfect for when I’m on the go, and the aluminium packaging feels so much more chic than a plastic tube.” —Ingrid Fowler, senior art director
Best Hand Sanitizer: Touchland Power Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitizer
Best Hand Sanitizer
Touchland Power Mist Hydrating Hand Sanitizer
Amazon (3-Pack)
Why It Won: In the five years since winning its first Best of Beauty award, Touchland has turned hand sanitizer into a status symbol, transforming a boring-but-practical product into something fun and stylish with its smartphone-shaped Power Mist. The dozen-plus fragrance options defy logic—they smell like body mists, not something that efficiently kills 99.99% of most harmful germs—and allow you to collect and slip one into every bag you own.
Tester feedback from editor in chief Jessica Cruel

“I was never a collector of baseball or Pokémon cards, but the way I hoard these Touchland hand sanitizers could classify me as a collector. They are chic, colorful, and small enough to fit in every clutch or travel toiletry case.” —Jessica Cruel, editor in chief
Best Hand Wash: Compagnie de Provence Liquid Marseille Soap
Best Hand Wash
Compagnie de Provence Liquid Marseille Soap
Amazon
Why It Won: Inspired by the Marseillaise heritage of hand-making soap, Compagnie de Provence Liquid Marseille Soap brings a bit of the South of France to your kitchen or bathroom sink. Boiled down in a cauldron using traditional methods, the sulfate-free formula bubbles up into a lovely lather that washes hands without stripping them (the glycerin, as well as coconut, olive, and sweet almond oils, are to thank) and fills the room with its sophisticated, Provençal scents.

"A nice hand soap is a simple luxury often looked over until you experience it again and realize it's actually a necessity. The Noir Black Tea scent is my personal favorite and not just because of its beautiful, sleek, matte black packaging." —Edward Horgan, beauty closet associate
Best Oral-Care Products
Best Teeth Whitening: Crest 3D Whitestrips Professional Effects
Best Teeth Whitening Strips
Crest 3D Whitestrips Professional Effects
Amazon
Why It Won: To be a household name, you have to dominate the competition year after year, and no other white strips have ever been able to eclipse the brand that created the category 24 years ago. Worn 30 to 45 minutes a day for 20 days, Crest 3D Whitestrips Professional Effects can remove a decade’s worth of iced coffees, Diet Cokes, and chiantis, returning your mouth to mint condition and keeping it that way for months and months.

“Crest 3D Whitestrips have been a forever go-to of mine. The whitening effect is almost unbelievable. I’ve had a minimum of two coffees every day since my hand was big enough to hold a cup, and every time I use these strips, my teeth look visibly brighter. I also tend to have very sensitive teeth, and the strips never irritate.” —ElleAnna Revell, Best of Beauty editorial assistant
Best Water Flosser: Panasonic Portable Cordless Water Flosser
Best Water Flosser
Panasonic Portable Cordless Water Flosser
Amazon
Why It Won: There are water flossers that dispense H2O like a firehose, and water flossers with all the strength of a high-school drinking fountain. We want something in between, and Panasonic Portable Cordless Water Flosser fits the bill. Both pressure settings are strong enough to burst through buildup, but not so intense that they powerwash your gums in the process (ouch). Batteries might not be included, but we’ll forgive Panasonic for making a tool so compact it can easily fit under the sink—and into your carry-on.

“My dentist literally thanks me for using my water flosser and constantly reminds me how important it is to use it every day. The ability to finally have one I can travel with, so I’m not skipping out on using it when I’m not at home, is a game-changer! My permanent retainer and I cannot live without this flosser when I travel.” —Edward Horgan, beauty closet associate
Best Floss: Cocolab Cocofloss
Best Floss
Cocolab Cocofloss
Amazon
Associate beauty director Sarah Kinonen applies the Cocolab Cocofloss.
Why It Won: Cocolab Cocofloss actually makes us look forward to flossing our teeth every night. Sure, the cute name and yummy flavors certainly help (we’re partial to Delicious Mint and Fresh Coconuts), but it’s also because the woven string—made up of hundreds of polyester fibers that contract and expand as you slip them between your teeth—dislodges debris swiftly and comfortably, without so much as a shred or a snag.
Tester feedback from associate beauty director Sarah Kinonen

“I once heard a dentist say, ‘Brushing your teeth but not flossing is like going to the bathroom but not wiping,’ and I’ve never forgotten that. (I mean, with that mental image, how could you?) That’s why I floss two, maybe three times a day, depending on what I ate and where I am. And Cocofloss is the only floss I use. Its thicker-than-normal string gets deep into crevices while still being incredibly gentle on my very sensitive and receding gums. I also love how it comes in so many yummy flavors—you’ll be surprised how good Banana Daiquiri floss tastes!” —Sarah Kinonen, associate beauty director
Best Toothbrush: Oral-B iO Series 5 Electric Toothbrush
Best Toothbrush
Oral-B iO Series 5 Electric Toothbrush
Amazon
Why It Won: Several Allure editor dentists turned us on to the Oral-B iO Series 5 Electric Toothbrush, recommending it for its round-shaped brush that vibrates and oscillates away almost every last vestige of food and plaque. Now, we’re recommending it to you, for the third year in a row, because it’s still the best option out there, from the pressure sensors and five cleaning modes, to the validating smiley face that appears on screen every time we brush for the full two minutes.
Tester feedback from editor in chief Jessica Cruel

“I have been using this Oral-B electric toothbrush since the first iO launched years ago. The sensitivity sensor that tells me I am pressing too hard has become a litmus test for how my day is going to go. That blinking red light means I'm tense, and it's time to let it all go. Oh—and my dentist 100% approves because he thinks I have been flossing more (but really I've just been using this toothbrush religiously).” —Jessica Cruel, editor in chief
Best Toothpaste: Colgate Total Active Prevention Whitening Toothpaste
Best Toothpaste
Colgate Total Active Prevention Whitening Toothpaste

Why It Won: With Colgate Total Active Prevention Whitening Toothpaste we came for the whitening but stayed for the fact that the pepperminty paste is excellent at taking care of all aspects of our oral health. In addition to whitening agents, the formula includes stannous fluoride, a specific type of fluoride that has antimicrobial properties to help target gingivitis, bad breath, and plaque buildup.

Associate beauty director Sarah Kinonen applies the TheraBreath Whitening Fresh Breath Oral Rinse.
Why It Won: It isn’t the sexiest product in your bathroom, but it sure is the hardest working. Formulated without alcohol or hydrogen peroxide, the TheraBreath Whitening Fresh Breath Oral Rinse uses glucose oxidase and enzymes called papain to help break up stains and kill bad-breath-causing bacteria—all without aggravating sensitive teeth and gums.

“As a beauty editor with endless access to free products, I don’t buy many in real life…. except this mouthwash. In fact, I buy it in bulk every few months. I can’t live without it—a swish and gargle a few times a day keeps the bad breath away, and I’d like to keep it that way!” —Sarah Kinonen, associate beauty director
